The common warthog is a wild member of the pig family found in grasslands, savannas, and woodlands of sub-Saharan Africa. Recognizable by its large tusks and distinctive facial warts, it is a resilient forager that feeds on grasses, roots, and tubers. Despite their fierce appearance, warthogs are social animals often seen in groups called sounders.
